1. Overview
-----------
	This is the Linux port for the family of configurable ARC700 cores with
	a MMU (Memory management unit). More info on ARC700 cores at 
	http://www.arc.com/configurablecores/arc700/


2. Features Supported

	1. Complete ptrace support for the GDB release 
	2. Better D-cache support and run time auto detection of Data and
	   instruction  cache configuration
	3. ARC VMAC (ethernet) driver with Data cache support
	4. Upgrade to linux kernel version 2.4.29
	5. Build compatible with the ARC GCC-3.4.x release
	6. Misc Bug fixes

	1. First public release
	2. Support for the ARC700 core and the ARCangel development platform
	3. Fast context switching using ARC700 MMU's multiple address spaces
	4. Lazy TLB flushing for improved multi tasking performance
	5. Support for ARC peripherals (UART and VMAC)


3. Known Limitations and Defects
--------------------------------
	1. No kernel modules support yet
	2. Rare system freeze when the ARC VMAC is flooded with packets and 
	   data cache is enabled
	3. A gcc-3.4.x bug shows it's face when NFS support is compiled in at
	   optimization level -O2
